Currently a LEAT system is being developed at Økern Portal. Økern Portal is named as one of Oslo's most forward-looking buildings, that will be finished in 2020. The building will be certified with BREEAM Excellent.
The LEAT system consists of 18 wells that will ensure 0.85 MW for heating and cooling, which is 90% of the total energy needed to heat the building. Originally a traditional closed-circulation well system was planned, that would need about 300 wells to provide the required energy.
