Hydraulic fracturing of shallow wells is not to be confused with ‘fraccing’ as done in the Oil industry. By sealing off an interval in a well, using a single or double packer, the existing fracture network is enhanced by the injection of water under high pressure. This ensures increased opening and extend of the fractures, which leads to an improvement of the aquifer connectivity and performance.
